Correction policy
A correction record includes correction_id, page_id, date, old_text_or_issue, corrected_text, reason, source, and editor. Every substantive article includes a visible history. Silent typo fixes do not need a full correction notice.
What makes a correction substantive
Changing an exposed-data description from “whole genome” to “relative profile” changes the meaning of a case and warrants a visible correction. Fixing a misspelled word usually does not. The distinction is whether the change affects a reader's understanding of the evidence, scope, or conclusion.
A useful correction explains the original problem and the supported replacement in plain language. It should also identify affected summaries or downloads so the same error is not left elsewhere in the collection. The purpose is to preserve an understandable record, not merely to announce that a page was edited.
